Your "silk scarf" isn't really silk, sis...

So there's really no easy way to say it, but most brands & businesses are *knowingly* obscuring the truth. Whenever they use the words "satin", "silky", and "vegan silk" it always means one thing: YOUR "SILK" SCARF IS MADE OF PLASTIC!
Maybe it's rayon, maybe it's polyester, the only thing I can tell you for sure is that it's not silk!
The benefits that are usually attributed to all non-cotton scarves really only apply to the ones made of silk because plastic scarves pill and will also cause long-term micro-damage.
Look for silk scarves that explicitly state they're made with 100% silk. And if the price on a "silk" scarf is too good to be true, then you're probably getting a satin (plastic) scarf (or the lowest quality silk).
